Common questions about plans, trials, and billing.

Is there really a free trial? Do I need a credit card?

Yes, 14 days of full Pro access. No credit card up front — you give us payment details only when the trial ends and you pick a plan. If you don’t pick one, your account reverts to a free tier (one client retained so your work isn’t lost) — subscribe any time to unlock your full book.

What counts as an “active client”?

Any client you’ve uploaded a statement for in the current calendar month. Archived clients don’t count. You can move clients in and out of active without re-creating them.

What happens if I exceed my plan limit?

We’ll let you know at 80% and 100% of your client cap. You won’t be locked out — we’ll just ask you to upgrade or archive a client at month-end.

Are prices in ZAR? Is VAT included?

All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR), exclusive of 15% VAT. VAT-registered SA customers receive a tax invoice each billing cycle.

Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. Switching to annual takes effect immediately and pro-rates the existing month. Switching back to monthly takes effect at the end of your current annual term.

Do you offer discounts for SAIPA / SAICA / SAIT members or non-profits?

We’re working on a member-organisation discount programme. In the meantime, email hello@taxsort.co.za with your membership number and we’ll honour 15% off for the first year.
